What is the Iron Man Golf Challenge?

The Iron Man Golf Challenge is a high‑energy, endurance‑driven test of teamwork and determination — a 27‑hole marathon played in a modified scramble format where each team works together to log an impressive 100 total scores before the day is done. It’s fast‑paced, competitive, and packed with the kind of camaraderie that comes from pushing your limits alongside friends.


But it’s more than a long day on the course. The Iron Man Golf Challenge creates a powerful opportunity to support Manatee County FCA and the ministry happening in our schools and on our teams. Every hole played, every score recorded, and every pledge raised helps fuel life‑changing impact for students and coaches right here at home.



Whether you come for the challenge, the teamwork, or the shared experience of grinding through all 27 holes, this event promises an unforgettable day for a cause that matters.

EVENT DETAILS

The Iron Man Golf Challenge is a true test of endurance and golfing skills.

Entry is limited to the first 9 Teams to register.

MODIFIED SCRAMBLE RULES:

Tee & Approach Shots:

  • Teams will play a four ball scramble off the tee, the best shot is selected, and all balls are gathered and hit from that spot. Repeat until reaching the green.

On the Green:


Once your team selects a ball on the green as the desired position for your next shot:

  • All balls must be played out from that exact spot.
  • Each ball must be holed—no gimmes.
  • Every stroke counts toward the total score.

Example:

Your team selects a ball that is 10 feet from the hole and you're now putting your 3rd shot.


First ball is holed → Ball one score = 3

Second ball misses, then taps in → Ball 2 score = 4

Third ball is holed → Ball 3 score = 3

Fourth ball misses, then taps in → Ball four score = 4


Team score for the hole = 3 + 4 + 3 + 4 = 14 strokes

RULES:

  • Team will be provided with a golf cart
  • Team will collectively play 4 golf balls on holes 1-18
  • Team will collectively play 3 golf balls on holes 19-27
  • Team will keep track of score for each golf ball played on every hole.
  • Bogey max score per golf ball

ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES

  • All players are automatically entered into the closest to the hole on course competitions.
  • All players will compete in the 100th hole shootout competition.

PRIZES:

  • Every participant will receive an Iron Man Medal
  • Trophy and prize for 1st & 2nd Team lowest combined overall score
  • Trophy and prize for Shootout Champion
